Viva Insights: Users can request delegate access

In a forthcoming update to Microsoft Viva Insights, users will be empowered to request delegate access from their managers, opening up a range of new functionalities over various Teams platforms plus the web app. From December 2024 for Targeted Release and January 2025 for General Availability, this feature will be on by default and won't require any admin setup, making it highly accessible to users. Once available, the feature will allow requesters to benefit from the same organizational insights as their manager once the request is accepted. Delegates can be assigned through Insights managers in advance of the rollout, affording them access to a wide range of organizational metrics and reports.

To prepare, administrators will not need to take any action as the rollout will occur automatically by the specified date. However, they may wish to consult their current configurations to identify the impact of these changes and update any relevant documentation. The update will apply across all platforms and apps on which the Viva and Insights app features, including Teams, iOS/Android, Windows, and Mac desktops.
