Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Downgrade/remove sensitivity label

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management has introduced a new feature that enhances IRM Office Indicator. This feature allows for the downgrading and removal of sensitivity labels from files on OneDrive, AIP or Endpoint, whereas previously, only sensitivity label changes on SharePoint Web app were captured by IRM. The purpose of Insider Risk Management is to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage and security violations by correlating various signals. Customers can create their own policies based on their own internal policies, governance and organizational requirements. User-level privacy is ensured by privacy-designed features such as pseudonymization by default, role-based access controls and audit logs. This product is still in Preview Release phase and is expected to be released in January CY2025.
