Microsoft Teams: Extensibility for PSTN calls
Microsoft Teams is set to introduce a new feature that will allow third-party developers to enhance PSTN calls with contextual information to make it possible for Teams users to access relevant data without leaving the call experience. This extension is available for developers to integrate their applications, adding new functionality to calls. The feature will roll out from mid-January to late February 2025 and will require no preparation, unless developing personal scope Tab apps for Teams. This functionality brings additional context and workflow integration into calling experiences, making customer-facing professionals more efficient by having data from line-of-business applications readily available to them. The feature will be available on Teams for Windows and Mac desktops, making Teams calling more efficient with the use of contextual data.
Organizations with developers who create new personal scope Tab apps for their users will be able to pin these apps to their accounts, enabling them to benefit from this new feature. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required.
This new feature is a valuable addition to Microsoft Teams, making it more efficient for businesses to communicate and access data, without the need to leave the call experience. Get ready for this upcoming feature by reviewing your current configuration.
