Microsoft Viva Insights Powershell Tenant Controls

Microsoft Viva Insights Powershell Tenant Controls

Microsoft Viva Insights PowerShell Tenant Controls are soon to become available for all worldwide in April 2023 with February 2023 for Preview mode. PowerShell administrators previously could update only individual user settings, but now they can update their tenant settings in PowerShell. The new PowerShell capabilities enable admins to view and update the default Microsoft Viva Insights settings for their tenant. PowerShell cmdlets like Get-DefaultTenantMyAnalyticsFeatureConfig and Set-DefaultTenantMyAnalyticsFeatureConfig are available for this purpose. These general settings are applicable to new users added to the tenant as well as existing users who have not previously updated their settings. However, if a user has updated their settings, the tenant’s default setting becomes irrelevant for that user. The changes might take up to 24 hours to take effect.

If you’re an admin, the addition of these PowerShell capabilities expands your options for managing your organization’s Viva Insights settings, ultimately offering more flexibility for tailored user experiences.
