New: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: Removing a recommendation to update Microsoft Secure Score

Microsoft is updating its Defender for Endpoint to improve the accuracy of security posture representation by removing recommendation SCID-2051. This update rollout will begin in mid-July 2024 and complete by mid-August 2024. The Microsoft Secure Score improvement action of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) will be updated to ensure a more accurate representation of security posture. This will involve withdrawing the MDE recommendation in SCID-2051: Turn on Microsoft Defender Application Guard managed mode. The recommendation will be refined to align more accurately with recommended policies while improving overall security. No admin action is necessary for the update rollout, but user notification and document updates are recommended. The “Turn on Microsoft Defender Application Guard managed mode” recommendation will be removed from MDE, and the security score will be updated for all organizations. All Microsoft Defender for Endpoint customers have access to this default update. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. It is recommended to notify users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
