Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Enable admins to inherit document library label from container label of a group/site/team

This post provides information on a new release that enables admins to inherit document library labels from the container label of a group/site/team in the Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal. With this update, new and edited documents within the default document library will be labeled automatically. It is important to note that if a SharePoint admin had already configured a default document library labeling, this setting will not override it.

This update is set to be released on a preview phase in November CY2024, with the product release phase set for January CY2025. This feature is available on both web and cloud platforms, and is available worldwide for standard multi-tenant instances.
