Upcoming changes as we prepare for transition from Stream (classic) to Stream (on SharePoint)

As Microsoft prepares to transition from Stream (classic) to Stream (on SharePoint), there are some upcoming changes that users should be aware of. For new customers who have a Stream license, accessing Stream (classic) for the first time via URL or tile in Microsoft 365 app launcher will no longer provision classic Stream by default. Instead, users will be directed to the new Stream app on Office.com. Until Stream (classic) fully retires, users can choose which Stream experience is most appropriate for them through a new setting added to the SharePoint admin center in July 2022.

Organizations that have never used Stream (classic) will no longer have access to that experience and will instead use Stream (on SharePoint). These changes will begin rolling out in mid-October and should be complete by mid-November. To prepare for these changes, users should review their preferred Stream experience and ensure they have access to the appropriate platform.
