Microsoft Forms now supports live data sync to Microsoft Excel with more functionality

Microsoft Forms has introduced a live data sync feature for Excel which supports group and individual forms in Excel for the web. With this feature, responses to surveys and quizzes can be easily synced to an Excel file, with automatic updates and coauthor support. The rollout for this feature began in late June 2024 and is expected to be fully available by late July 2024, without requiring any admin action. Users can create an Excel workbook in OneDrive on the form/quiz responses page, where form responses will sync automatically to a table in the workbook. The feature will be automatically enabled for all users who are able to use Microsoft Forms and Microsoft Excel in their organization.

This feature was previously available with the preview label in March 2024, but it will be released with enhanced functionality without the preview label in July 2024. This new data sync solution will also support two types of forms: Group forms created in Microsoft 365 group and Forms created in workbooks in Excel for the web. Data sync in Excel for Desktop will be gradually enabled in due course.

Overall, this feature enhances the functionality of Microsoft Forms and Excel, enabling the users to effortlessly sync information and responses to Excel, which can be manipulated and studied further.
