Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Improved DLP policy tip reliability

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Improved DLP policy tip reliability

Microsoft has introduced an update to its Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs for Windows that ensures consistent policy tips are displayed, giving businesses better control over information protection. These policy tips align with those generated by SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business, making sure that the displayed tips are in line with the determined needs of the file. This development means that businesses can ensure compliance across their information protection policies.

The update is part of the Microsoft Purview compliance portal and is aimed at enhancing DLP (data loss prevention) policy tip reliability, giving businesses greater confidence that their policies are being implemented consistently across their software. This update is in the preview release phase and is expected to roll out to worldwide cloud desktop instances by May 2024.
