Adaptive Protection in Microsoft Purview: Public preview of HR resignation date as a condition for risk level

Microsoft Purview continues to evolve with its upcoming public preview of Adaptive Protection, which now includes HR resignation date as a condition for risk level. With this in mind, admins with the right permissions can set HR resignation date as a condition for a minor, moderate or elevated risk level. This new feature aims to help organizations mitigate risks more effectively, such as insider threats like IP theft, data leakage, or security violations.

This update is set to rollout this November with a completion date expected by mid-December, and no additional action is needed for this update. For admins to configure an individual's risk level for Adaptive Protection, they can visit Insider Risk Management > Adaptive Protection (preview) > risk levels for Adaptive Protection.

Adaptive Protection in Microsoft Purview aims to provide organizations with a solution to identify potential malicious and inadvertent insular risks in correlation with various signals. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to ensure user-level privacy.
