Microsoft has introduced auditing for user and app activities in Microsoft Project, Planner, and Microsoft To Do on the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. With audit log retention, businesses can now investigate incidents, suspicious activity, and malicious changes within their organization. Auditing captures events like task creation, modifications, and more. This feature requires a paid Project Plan 1 license in addition to the relevant Microsoft 365 license that includes entitlements to Audit (Premium). Organizations can turn on auditing by default, and search for Project, Planner, and To Do events from the compliance portal. This update is rolling out by late June and will help businesses manage regulatory compliance requirements by identifying data risks and scope of compromise. For further information about activities captured, refer to Microsoft's documentation.
