Microsoft Entra ID: Device-based Conditional Access to M365/Azure resources on Red Hat Enterprise Linux is GA
Microsoft Entra ID is now offering device-based conditional access for Microsoft 365 and Azure on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This feature will become generally available in mid to late August 2024. The Entra ID registration offers conditional access policies, single sign-on, Intune compliance, and support for Red Hat RPM packages. No admin action is required. As a result, device-based conditional access to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure resources on Red Hat Enterprise Linux will be generally available. The rollout is expected to start in mid-August 2024 and end by late August 2024. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x and 9.x (LTS) will be supported, and Entra ID registration and enrollment of Red Hat LTS (8/9) desktops will also be possible. Microsoft Edge web applications are now being protected, while there is support for single sign-on to native and web applications accessing Microsoft 365 and Azure protected resources such as Microsoft Azure CLI, Microsoft Edge Browser, Microsoft Teams PWA, and more. Additionally, there is support for standard Microsoft Intune compliance policies and Bash scripts with custom compliance policies. There is now support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux RPM packages in addition to Linux Debian DEB packages. This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. This update is expected to extend support to Red Hat Enterprise Linux users and to enable a number of additional capabilities.
You may want to notify your administrators of this change and update any relevant documentation.
