Microsoft Outlook: Move emails between accounts (new Outlook for Windows and Outlook for the web)
Microsoft Outlook will soon introduce a new feature that allows users to move emails between their accounts in both the new Outlook for Windows as well as Outlook for the web. Designed to enhance organization and productivity, this feature will be under the control of admins who can enable it through the Set-OWAMailboxPolicy policy managed in Microsoft Exchange PowerShell. This policy enables administrators to grant users the freedom to move emails between accounts while adhering to organizational policies and needs. The rollout will include a new parameter named -ItemsToOtherAccountsEnabled and the feature will be available from mid-January 2025 onwards. By default, the -ItemsToOtherAccountsEnabled setting will be false, indicating that the policy is disabled. Users will require admin approval to enable the feature and drag and drop emails or use keyboard shortcuts to move or copy emails between accounts. Right-clicking on an email will also provide users with the move or copy option if the policy is enabled. This feature will be automatically rolled out to users by early April 2025 and enterprise administrators are advised to review their current configuration to assess the impact on their organization.
Get ready to streamline your email organization and productivity with the upcoming Microsoft Outlook feature to move emails between accounts.
