Microsoft Teams: Green screen feature in Teams Meetings
Microsoft Teams has announced the upcoming release of a green screen feature for users in order to provide an improved virtual background effect. This feature is linked to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 117941 and will be roll out as follows: Public Preview to be completed by late March, Standard and GCC by late April, GCC-H by mid-May, and DoD by late June. The green screen will allow for greater precision and definition around your face, head, ears, and hair when implementing the virtual background effect. Additionally, it will permit the display of objects in your hand and show them more visibly to other participants in a call. However, this feature will not be compatible with Mac M1/M2, transparent or translucent objects. Furthermore, it will deactivate the background blur and Together Mode whilst enabling Presenter modes like Standout, Side-by-Side, Reporter and PowerPoint Live Standout as well as the replacement of backgrounds. To enable this feature, users must apply a background effect in Teams meetings and select the correct backdrop color for optimal use.
