Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery – New cmdlet for hold removal
Microsoft has announced the launch of a new cmdlet to facilitate removal of orphaned and legacy eDiscovery holds. This cmdlet will allow users to remove eDiscovery holds themselves, decreasing the need to contact Microsoft support to take care of it. The cmdlet will be available only in Security & Compliance PowerShell and has three action parameters: 'Get Holds', 'Remove Hold', and 'Get Hold Removals'. These features are accessible through the Security & Compliance PowerShell and users with Compliance Administrator role group permission can execute these actions. The rollout of this cmdlet is expected to start in early October and finish by mid-October 2023. No additional settings are needed for this feature.
