Microsoft Edge: Sidebar visibility changes
Microsoft Edge is making changes to the sidebar that will affect non-active and new users. Starting in late September 2024, the sidebar will be turned off for these users but can be re-enabled in settings. Active users of the sidebar will not see any changes, and administrators can manage the availability of the sidebar using the HubsSidebarEnabled policy. The update is set to roll out worldwide by early October 2024.
If the sidebar is not managed via policy by administrators, users who had the sidebar enabled may find it turned off, and they will need to go to the Settings page to turn it back on. Administrators should be aware of this change and inform end-users if needed.
The details of this change can be found on the M365 Admin website, and the message ID for reference is MC888041.
