Microsoft Edge for Business

Microsoft Edge for Business

The new Microsoft Edge for Business is a dedicated work experience that is aimed at meeting the needs of both end-users and IT pros. With a focus on security and productivity, Microsoft Edge for Business provides a rich set of native enterprise controls, including some new visual elements such as an adjusted icon and company branding. The new Edge for Business browser window is designed to automatically switch between work and personal browsing, and it supports Unmanaged Bring Your Own Personal Computer (BYOPC).

Microsoft Edge for Business is slated to become the standard browser experience for organizations and will be activated through Azure Active Directory login, meaning users who log in with their Azure AD account will get Edge for Business instead of the current Edge experience. The new Edge for Business window for work will allow users with both Azure AD and MSA profiles set up to have a separate, differentiated experience as work sites will be routed to Edge for Business and personal sites to Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft Edge for Business is currently in preview and is available in Microsoft Edge version 115 or later. It is expected to be turned on by default beginning with Microsoft Edge version 116, which is scheduled for the week of August 17, 2023. Users logging in with AAD will automatically receive Edge for Business, a visually distinct work browser with robust enterprise controls for secure data access and leak prevention. Information is kept separate with Edge for Business automatically separating work and personal browsing into dedicated browser windows with their own caches and storage locations.
