Microsoft Edge: Option to attach the Edge sidebar to the Windows desktop
Microsoft Edge is expanding its functionality by providing users with the option to access their apps and sites directly from their Windows desktop. With this new feature, users can attach the Edge sidebar to their desktop by selecting a "popout" icon located near the base of the sidebar in the browser, offering a side-by-side experience that works with any Windows app. Users can now access all of their favorite AI tools and web-based services, such as Bing Chat, without ever having to launch a browser window, leading to enhanced productivity in all areas of Windows. This feature will be available as an opt-in experience, and administrators can control its availability using the StandaloneHubsSidebarEnabled feature. Explore this innovative new feature with Microsoft Edge, available in the general availability release phase as of June CY2023.
