Outlook: Support for offline search without Spotlight dependency
Microsoft is introducing new support for offline search in Outlook for iOS devices even if the user's Intune policy blocks the use of Spotlight. Currently, Outlook's offline search relies on Spotlight to search the local index. However, some Intune policies restrict the use of Spotlight, disabling offline search altogether. To address this issue, Microsoft is now implementing a new offline search feature that will operate independently of Spotlight. This update is scheduled for General Availability Release on August CY2023, benefiting Outlook users by facilitating offline searches for an improved experience.
For Outlook users on iOS devices, this update could eliminate a common issue that prevents offline searches, providing an efficient and reliable experience.
