SPO Site Sharing will now use Azure B2B Invitation Manager

Microsoft is updating its SharePoint Online Site Sharing backend to utilize Azure B2B Invitation Manager instead of the legacy SharePoint Invitation Manager. This change aims to enhance the sharing experience for users and external recipients by utilizing the organization's B2B Invitation Manager experience. The new sharing flow remains the same as it is, with the change only affecting the backend. The rollout will start in late February and is expected to complete by the end of April. Users may want to review their Azure B2B Invitation Manager policies to prepare for this change.
This update, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 117557, promises to improve the sharing experience for SharePoint sites. The announcement message is titled "SPO Site Sharing will now use Azure B2B Invitation Manager" and was posted on the M365 Admin platform.
