Schedule Send for Microsoft Teams Chat

As remote teams become increasingly common and diverse, Microsoft Teams is taking strides to promote work-life balance by adding the "schedule send" feature, allowing users to schedule chat messages in advance. This feature permits users to schedule chat messages to be delivered only during the recipient's work hours, and it works on both desktop and mobile devices. Scheduled messages can be edited or deleted before delivery, and inline images and attached files can only be accessed after delivery. All users in an organization can utilize this feature, and scheduled messages can't be flagged as urgent or critical. This feature began rolling out in late September and is expected to be fully rolled out by mid-October for production.

For desktop users, simply right-click on the send button to access the scheduling menu, and then choose a date and time within seven days from now. For mobile users, write a message and long-press the send button to schedule the message, then choose a date and time within seven days to deliver it. Once a date has been chosen, the message will be sent like any other message, with no additional steps required.

In recent years, the trend of remote work has continued to rise dramatically, and Teams is responding by providing features that promote accessibility and work-life balance. With the schedule send feature, Teams is making it easier for remote teams to collaborate efficiently while ensuring that the work day doesn't spill over into personal time.
