Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Sequence detection starting with downloads from third-party sites

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management now offers admins the capability to configure sequence detection, which can detect risky user actions starting from downloads of third-party domains, such as box.com and dropbox.com. This feature helps security teams gain visibility into multi-cloud environments and identify potential insider risks leading to data security incidents. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management utilizes various signals to identify potential malicious and inadvertent insider risk actions, including IP theft, data leakage, and security violations.

Customers using Insider Risk Management can develop policies for managing security and compliance, which are created with privacy in mind. User privacy is ensured through pseudonymization by default, alongside role-based access controls and audit logs. The feature is currently in its Preview phase, slated to launch this coming February, with General Availability projected for December 2023.
