Azure Maps Creator onboarding

Azure Maps Creator lets you easily leverage floor plans to create, publish, and manage custom, interactive indoor maps for your business locations. It converts technical building plans into smart and adaptable Azure Maps overlays where you can visualize interior data such as temperature, occupancy, or other location-based services. Onboarding is as easy as preparing and uploading your DWG floorplan files (the native file format for Autodesk's AutoCAD software) as a drawing package into Azure Maps Creator.

As a result, anyone looking to develop an indoor map can do so without incurring high fees from third-party service providers or sharing confidential data. Azure Maps Creator onboarding tool simplifies onboarding by breaking it down into a few simple steps. 

1. Assign each DWG file to a facility level – This configures the ordinal position of levels, allowing you to switch between floors or use wayfinding across floors with your indoor map.
2. Map DWG layers that will be converted – This will be used to convert entities in the DWG file to indoor map features that you can define, like furniture and electrical/plumbing layers.
3. Position the facility on a map – This is used to position your indoor map so the indoor map can be visualized on top of a base map. 

After completing the onboarding steps, you will have a ready-to-use drawing package that meets Azure Maps Creator requirements. The last step is to upload the converted result to Azure Maps Creator to use your newly created indoor map.
