Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Microsoft 365 Groups scoping in Teams DLP policy extend protection to 1:1/n chats

Microsoft 365 Groups scoping in Teams DLP policies will now automatically extend protection to non-channel chats, thanks to a change that eliminates the need to manually add users or security groups.

The change will apply to Teams standard and shared channel chats, and extends to 1:1/n chats, while those customers who are using optical character recognition for Teams chat will still be required to add users or security groups to the DLP policies.

The updated policy is scheduled to be released in August CY2024, and will be available in the Worldwide Standard Multi-Tenant Cloud Instance.
