Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Enhanced content extraction and file type coverage for DLP on Windows devices
Microsoft continues to improve its Purview compliance portal, with new upgrades to Data Loss Prevention policies for windows endpoint devices. This release will see the file type coverage increase from the current 40 file types to over 100. These enhancements will bring the endpoint coverage in line with other locations such as Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive. This update is set to include features such as detecting the label from pfile, detecting sensitive content in metadata, and detecting sensitive content in PDF forms, making it easier to scan, classify, and protect sensitive content. These upgrades are set to come in November CY2024.
