Introducing Support for Concurrent Exchange Online License Assignments

Office 365 users can now assign more than one Exchange Online license per AAD user, thanks to a new feature launched by Microsoft. This update enables stacking support for licenses, and conducts automatic feature upgrades and downgrades for Exchange Online based on the superior license assigned to a user. Concurrent license assignments for their own services have already been supported by SharePoint Online and Teams, making the introduction of this update essential for Exchange Online. The update was rolled out in January 2023 and requires tenant admins to remove the least essential licenses from users with more than one assigned Exchange Online license. This ensures that all licenses assigned are in use, and might be billed. This post is aimed at providing awareness of this update, no action is needed.
