SharePoint Syntex Per User License End of Sale Notice

SharePoint Syntex Per User License End of Sale Notice

Attention SharePoint Syntex users! On June 30th, 2023 Microsoft will retire the per user SharePoint Syntex license, which allowed access to Syntex services, in favor of a Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go billing system. Current licenses will remain valid through the end of their terms, but on July 1st, 2023 customers will no longer be able to purchase per user licenses. If you remove all Syntex licenses from your tenant in the future, certain features such as creating, publishing, or running custom models and term store reports will no longer be available. However, no data will be lost and site permissions will remain unchanged.

To ensure continued access to Syntex features, customers will need to opt-in to the Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go billing system. Microsoft Syntex packages the capabilities of SharePoint Syntex with new features and provides comprehensive content services coverage across the entire organization, making this shift a win-win for users.

For users who are currently subscribed to SharePoint Syntex, renewals are possible prior to the end of their term, granting continued access to their individual features through their license duration.

Stay informed and start preparing for the change by transitioning to Microsoft Syntex before June 30th, 2023.
