License Management capabilities for Independent Software Vendors’ (ISV) SaaS Apps in Microsoft Teams

Independent software vendors (ISVs) using Microsoft Teams for their transactable software as a service (SaaS) offers will now have the option to enable license management capabilities for Teams users. By doing this, customers will be able to manage their subscriptions and assign licenses directly within Teams client app store or the Teams admin center. Both admins and users will be able to view license allocations and manage assignments for single or multiple users or teams with a single click. This new feature is set to roll out in late March 2023 for transactable SaaS offers with enabled Teams licensing solution from ISVs.
ISVs can now streamline the license management experience for their Teams users by enabling Microsoft Team License Management for their transactable SaaS offers at the time of publishing. This option enables Teams customers to manage their subscriptions and allocate licenses directly within Teams using two access points- Teams client app store or Teams admin center. Both options allow for the real-time management of allocations for single or multiple users or teams. Furthermore, the feature reveals license details and user lists as well. This new feature rollout is expected to occur in late March 2023 and will apply to transactable SaaS offers for which the Teams licensing solution has been enabled by the ISV.
