Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Sensitivity analysis for policy tuning

Microsoft has introduced a new update for its Purview compliance portal, which offers a sensitivity analysis feature for admins with appropriate permissions. This feature allows admins to view the count of users in the organization who would meet specific indicator thresholds, presented in the form of a bar chart. Admins can use this chart to make informed decisions on which threshold to apply for each indicator, improving their ability to manage insider risks effectively.

The Purview Insider Risk Management feature is designed to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as data leakage or security violations. Customers can create policies based on their own requirements and internal policies. The tool features role-based access controls, audit logs, and privacy protections including pseudonymization by default. The product is set to be released in February 2024 and is accessible on web cloud instances including GCC, DoD, and GCC High.

This update enhances the capability of the Purview platform and improves an admin's understanding of the specific thresholds necessary to manage insider risks, demonstrating Microsoft's commitment to improving data governance and compliance across the enterprise.
