Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Policy customization from alert review experience

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management has introduced a new feature that enables admins to customize Insider Risk Management policies and adjust policy thresholds from within the alert review experience. This feature is designed to allow customization decisions to be made in the context of alert review activities, simplifying the process for users. Insider Risk Management is a tool that correlates various signals to identify potential insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. The tool allows customers to create policies to manage security and compliance, with privacy controls in place.

This is a boon for IT admins who prioritize the security of their organizations and need to frequently fine-tune policies. The update also enhances flexibility and responsiveness, streamlining policy configuration by removing the need to cycle through the policy configuration wizard. The Insider Risk Management feature aims to provide users with a more efficient and proactive approach to security management, with the added bonus of ensuring user-level privacy. This feature is set to be released in June CY2023 and will be available on the web cloud instance worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), DoD, GCC, GCC High.
