Microsoft 365: Dedicated Backup Administrator Role for Microsoft 365 Backup
Microsoft 365 now has a dedicated Backup Administrator role specifically designed to manage administration tasks related to M365 Backup. This role allows for streamlined and efficient management of backup-related tasks, ensuring that your backups are secure and easily accessible.
The role is now generally available and was released in March CY2025, with a preview available in January CY2025. It can be accessed through the web platform and cloud instance, with applications available worldwide (standard multi-tenant).
By utilizing this role, users can trust that their backup tasks are being handled by a dedicated and knowledgeable professional, ensuring that their data is always protected and recoverable.
