End of support for the Microsoft 365 app browser extension

End of support for the Microsoft 365 app browser extension

The Microsoft 365 app browser extension, formerly known as Office browser extension, will no longer be supported after January 15th, 2024. This free extension is available on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, allowing users access to Microsoft 365 apps and documents on the web. After the end of support, the extension will no longer receive security or non-security updates, bug fixes, or technical support. Additionally, it will be removed from Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome web stores as an extension add-on.

Users are advised to work in Microsoft365.com as the central place to find apps and documents on the web. Those who have installed the browser extension will receive a note with guidance on how to remove it. Organizations are encouraged to communicate the end of the support to their users and update training and documentation as necessary.

Stay informed and stay ahead of the curve to avoid any disruption in accessing your Microsoft 365 apps and documents on the web.
