Microsoft 365: Protection unit-level offboarding for Microsoft 365 Backup
Microsoft 365 Backup has introduced a new feature that allows for protection unit-level offboarding. This feature enables users to permanently delete protection units - which could refer to OneDrive accounts, SharePoint sites, or Exchange Online shared or user mailboxes - from backups, after an appropriate grace period. This new tool will be available for general use from July CY2025. Preview date is March CY2025. The platform for this tool is web cloud instance worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant).
