Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Granular trigger throttling

Microsoft Purview has introduced an update to its Insider Risk Management capability, offering more granular trigger throttling limits to address noisy trigger volumes, with the aim of preventing impact on other policies. The throttling limits will apply to sensitive triggers such as HR signals and custom triggers (limited to 15,000 per day per trigger) and other triggers (limited to 5,000 per day per trigger). This update will ensure that organizations can receive critical alerts without being throttled by limits, while policy health warning messages will assist admins in identifying and managing noisy triggers. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management helps identify insider risks such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations, enabling customers to create policies based on their own governance requirements. Built with privacy by design, the tool includes pseudonymization, user-level privacy controls, and audit logs.
