Built-in DLP content inspection engine retirement
The Built-in DLP engine in Defender for Cloud Apps/file policy configuration is being retired starting from March 2023. Instead, Microsoft recommends the use of DCS (Data Classification Service) content inspection engine, which offers enhanced capabilities and will be the focus of future development efforts. Though active file policies containing Built-in DLP will continue to work as expected, administrators will no longer be able to configure new policies with the Built-in DLP engine. The retirement process will take place from mid-March to late March. To prepare, Microsoft advises users to shift all policies to use the DCS engine instead.
