CAPTCHA Verification for Anonymous Meeting Participants

CAPTCHA Verification for Anonymous Meeting Participants

In an effort to boost security for Microsoft Teams, the platform is rolling out CAPTCHA verification for anonymous meeting participants starting from early to mid-October 2024. Despite being off by default, this feature will be available for Tenant Admins to enable in the Teams Admin Center for extra security. The CAPTCHA Verification for Anonymous Meeting Participants feature will be available on Microsoft Teams Desktop, Mobile, and Web, aimed at preventing malicious bot and third-party app joins. Any anonymous meeting attendee who wishes to join will be required to pass the CAPTCHA verification before being allowed into the meeting. Those who fail will not be granted entry. To prepare for this release, Tenant Admins need to enable CAPTCHA verification via Meeting policies in the Teams Admin Center.
