Plan for Change: Intune audit logs will only be retained for one year
Starting from April of 2024, Intune audit logs will only be retained for a year to align with the documented retention period. This change will have an impact on organizations that want to retain audit logs that are older than one year. To retain the logs, it is advisable to export the logs before this change takes place. You can do this by navigating to the Intune admin center and using the Filter option to select a date range and then selecting Export.
To track and monitor events in Microsoft Intune, you can use the Audit logs. It is essential to notify your IT admins and update your documentation guidelines as needed to prepare for this change. This change will require organizations to modify their retention policies to comply with the new retention period.
For additional details, read the Use audit logs to track and monitor events in Microsoft Intune. article and communicate the necessary updates as you prepare to adjust to this important change.
