Outlook: Replace quick compose pop-up with inline appointment creation in new Outlook for Windows and web
Outlook is set to introduce a new feature that changes how appointments are created on its Windows and web versions. Instead of the quick compose pop-up that appears when creating an event, users will be able to create appointments by typing directly into the time slot on the calendar grid, similar to the classic Outlook for Windows. However, this change will only apply when the user clicks on an empty time slot. Double-clicking on a time slot will still bring up the full compose form as before. The feature is set to be released in September CY2024 and will be available on both desktop and cloud platforms worldwide.
