Modern Authentication Settings Update

Microsoft has been gradually phasing out Basic Auth for particular Exchange Online protocols over the past several months. As a next step, the company is modifying its Admin Center to eliminate some unnecessary controls. Essentially, most of the default Authentication Policy checkboxes and settings from the modern authentication flyout of the Admin Center will be removed in the near future. This is because Authentication Policies for those protocols will have no effect once basic authentication has been disabled in a tenant. The only exception is the Authentication Policy setting for SMTP AUTH, which can still be utilized to enable or disable basic authentication for the SMTP protocol. For those wondering about the deprecation of basic authentication in Exchange Online, there is more information available via the link provided.
So, if you're an Exchange Online user, you don't need to do anything to prepare for these changes, and you can rest easy knowing that Microsoft is constantly working to improve security and simplify its platform.
