Turned-Off Remote Power Shell Protocol

In a recent bid to improve tenant security, Microsoft has disabled the Remote Power Shell (RPS) protocol for Exchange Online. This retirement decision was first announced in December 2022 and took effect in a phased manner, with RPS being disabled for new and passive tenants in April and May 2023, respectively, and finally for active tenants in June 2023. This means that Remote Power Shell protocol has been turned off in your tenant. This change affects users in your tenant, who will now need to install the V3 module instead to connect to Exchange Online. If you are not ready for this change yet and need more time, Microsoft offers a self-serve tool to request an extension. The extension will remain active until September 30th, 2023, and after this date, RPS will no longer be available. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the deprecation of RPS protocol in Exchange Online, you may contact Microsoft via email at [email protected] or leave comments on their site.
For more details, refer to Microsoft's official Message Center posts, including MC488586 in December and the most recent one sent approximately 7 days ago.
