Microsoft Purview to expand role groups

Microsoft Purview is expanding its built-in role groups to accommodate upcoming features and capabilities relevant to those role groups. The built-in role groups for Compliance Administrator, Information Protection related role groups, and Privacy Management related role groups will have additional roles added to them. This change affects Admins only, who will see the new roles within specific built-in role groups, enabling them to manage additional data types in the future. There is nothing end-users need to do to prepare for this change, which will be automatic for the built-in Microsoft Purview role groups. However, those who use Microsoft Purview's custom role groups are encouraged to review and adjust their role group memberships if necessary.
