Microsoft Teams is introducing a new lobby policy for webinars, enabling better control over security settings. Currently, registered users cannot bypass the lobby in public webinars. With this new lobby policy, two new options will be available for better control of security in webinars: allowing registered users to bypass the lobby and rejecting users who cannot bypass the lobby. These lobby options are only available for webinars and will roll out in mid-May, with a complete rollout expected by early June. The two new options will be available in the meeting options of webinars, turned off by default. Users will need to enable them to better manage their webinar security. No action is required from organizations to receive this new update.
This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 125881. It is recommended to educate users about this new change to better manage their webinars at their discretion. This post originally appeared on M365 Admin.
