Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Schedule reports

Microsoft Purview is set to provide investigators with new capabilities to schedule recurring or on-demand exports of message detail reports in Communication Compliance, beginning with Public Preview in December 2024, and General Availability in January 2025. This feature allows reports to be scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly, and users will receive email notifications when reports are ready for download. Previously, investigators could only export message detail reports on demand. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance helps organizations detect regulatory compliance violations, such as sensitive information, harassment, or sharing of adult content, with privacy features built-in. The rollout will happen automatically, and admins do not have to take any action.

For Communication Compliance investigators, the new feature will be available in the Purview compliance portal at Communication Compliance > Policies > Select a policy > Export report. This change will be available by default, and no action is required to prepare for it. Users can access the Communication Compliance solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal and can learn more about it through the links provided in the post.
