Microsoft 365 apps on Android for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will soon allow for the application of sensitivity labels to Adobe Acrobat PDFs that are created through these apps. This update is related to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 363449, with the rollout expected to begin mid-February 2024 and be completed by mid-March 2024. This means that users who configure sensitivity labels in their documents will find that these same labels carry over to PDFs created within these apps. However, any protected Office files must have their encryption protection removed before being converted to PDF. It is suggested that users review the PDF Support section of Manage sensitivity labels in Office apps on MS Learn. No action is required to prepare for this change, though organizations may want to inform their users about the upcoming update.
