Microsoft Viva: Auto-Categorization Coming to Meeting Category Insights in Viva Insights

Microsoft Viva Insights is launching an update that will bring auto-categorization to meeting category insights, assigning categories automatically to meetings based on size, cadence, and number of participants. These categories include long meetings, large meetings, large and long meetings, recurring meetings, and 1:1 meetings. The new feature aims to help users understand how they allocate their time across meeting categories. With this update, even users who do not currently categorize in Outlook or Teams can use these categories to assess whether meetings are valuable uses of time and resources. Auto-categorization will show up in Viva Insights, but not in Outlook or Teams calendars. This update will be available for Viva Insights licensed users in early May 2023 and will complete rollout by late May 2023.
