Microsoft Defender for Office 365 empowers end users to report suspicious messages from shared/delegate mailboxes

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 empowers end users to report suspicious messages from shared/delegate mailboxes

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 offers end users a new feature aimed at enhancing the reporting of suspicious messages from shared or delegate mailboxes. Soon, users will be able to report messages using the built-in Report button in Outlook on the web. Note that users will need to be granted Send As or Send On Behalf permission to access shared mailboxes for reporting in Outlook. Users must also be educated on how to delegate access to their mailbox to give their delegates Send As or Send On Behalf permission. This change will not affect other Outlook clients and those using a third-party add-in or who have turned off the reporting feature in Microsoft 365 Defender's portal. The new feature will begin rolling out in mid-May and will likely be completed by early June. This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 115507.

Stay on top of your email security by taking advantage of this new feature, and be sure to educate yourself and your delegates on the necessary permissions.
