Changes to Topics in Viva Engage
Viva Engage will undergo some changes to its model of topics, announced in February 2024, to simplify it and retire integration with Viva Topics. As a result, premium and management experiences will no longer be available. However, users will still be able to create, follow, and edit topics using Engage topics. Topic creators will also be able to delete topics they've created. Applicable admins can still edit topics and gain the ability to delete topics within Viva Engage. Organizations utilizing Answers in Viva will continue to have the additional capability of bulk topic deletion for admins, AI suggested topics for questions, topics promoted for following, and topic browse experiences. The rollout will begin in August 2024 and will complete for all tenants migrated to use Viva Topics in Viva Engage by April 2025. The change is happening due to Viva Topics' retirement, and its integration with Viva Engage will continue to be retired while a simplified topics model is supported to organize, amplify, route, and recall knowledge posted with topics.
