Updates to adding topics to posts in Viva Engage

Viva Engage (formerly known as Yammer) is now extending its capability to add topics to posts in order to improve the visibility, engagement, and organization of content. This feature will offer more options for users to select relevant topics and provide coaching tips and additional space for supporting topic information. In addition, questions will now have the topics field open by default to encourage the use of topics and drive higher response rates. The rollout of this feature will occur for all Viva Engage tenants migrated to Topics in Viva, accessible to both licensed and unlicensed users. Licensed users gain access to premium benefits such as topic cards, AI mined topics, and advanced topic management. The migration to Topics in Viva consolidates topics and allows the capture and sharing of information across Microsoft 365. This update will start rolling out in January 2024 for all Viva Engage networks in Native mode that have been migrated to use Topics in Viva.

For organizations using Viva Engage, adopting these new developments will improve the experience and help users share and find relevant topics. However, those without Viva Engage can safely ignore this message.
