Important Changes to Whiteboard in Teams tabs

Important Changes to Whiteboard in Teams tabs

Microsoft is implementing changes to Whiteboard tabs in Teams that will provide more control and flexibility to enable or disable them. These changes will be configured through Teams app permission policies, complementing the already existing meeting policy for Whiteboard in Teams meetings. The rollout is expected to begin in early March and continue through mid-March. It's important to note that this change applies to Whiteboard tabs but does not affect Whiteboard in meetings or Teams Annotations.

For tenants who have the "Allow specific apps and block all others" policy for Microsoft apps, Whiteboard will need to be added to the list of specific apps once this change is implemented to keep Whiteboard tabs functioning. Users should verify whether they're using this policy in the Teams Admin Center and add Whiteboard to the list of allowed apps if necessary. Please note that Whiteboard will not appear until after it has rolled out to the tenant, so it's recommended to check after March 15, 2023.
