Microsoft PowerPoint: Web viewer add-in retires December 2024

Microsoft PowerPoint: Web viewer add-in retires December 2024

Microsoft has announced that it will retire the Web Viewer add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint on December 2, 2024. This add-in will be removed from Microsoft App Source, and users will not be able to download or use it after the mentioned date. Existing files will not be affected, but the add-in's functionality in existing slides will come to an end. The reason behind this decision is the low usage of the add-in, as the company is focusing on more critical and relevant features for PowerPoint. This change applies to PowerPoint for Windows and Mac desktop and to PowerPoint for the web. No administrative action is required from users, and the changes will be automatically implemented. However, users may want to update their documentation and notify other users of this change.
